Cooking: 100% Grass fed beef is naturally lean and requires extra care to avoid over-cooking. Use of a meat thermometer is strongly recommended. Remove from heat immediately when the internal temperature in the thickest part of the meat reaches 145°F. 100% Grass fed beef works best when prepared rare to medium. If well-done is your preference, cooking at a lower temperature is best.

Oven or Pan Cooking: Always pre-heat your oven or pan before?cooking grass fed beef. Sear the meat quickly over high heat on each side to seal in its natural juices and then reduce heat to medium or low to finish. Let cooked meat stand for two or three minutes before serving.

Grilling: Make sure the grill surface is pre-heated. Sear the meat quickly over high heat on each side to seal in its natural juices and then continue grilling at a medium or low temperature to finish. Baste to add moisture throughout the?grilling?process. Let cooked meat stand for two or three minutes before serving.

Handling: Organic Prairie beef steaks are wet aged for flavor and tenderness, then individually vacuum sealed in air-tight packages to preserve optimum taste. Store in your freezer and thaw meat in the refrigerator or by microwave before cooking. We recommend using within 12 months of the freeze by date on the package, and consuming within 10 days after thawing for best quality.

Rib Eyes

4 of the 8 rib eyes are tough as leather. Company gave me a 15% discount on another order if submitted within the next 30 days. I will NOT order Rib Eyes from OV again.

Ribeye Steaks come out so tender putting in a covered corning ware pan and in the oven for about 60 minutes at 300-350 degrees. So glad I bought some.

Tried these for the first time in my new convection oven. Thaw in the refrigerator for a day, then preheat to 450, broil for 3 minutes at 500, convection bake for 10 minutes at 450, then let sit for 3 minutes before serving. Quick and easy, tender and fresh, tastes great.
Organic rib eye steaks

We were disappointed that the steaks came from Australia, which was not advertised on the website. Also, the steaks were tough even though they were cooked per directions and at medium rare.
Owner Response: Hi Karen, I am sorry to hear you were disappointed in your purchase. Someone from our team will be reaching out to you on your situation shortly.

I also missed that steak was coming from Australia. Major bummer as I specifically ordered from WI, which I consider relatively local to IL. Ribeye was rough and gamey. I don't understand why there can't be grass fed organic beef with all the land available in the midwest.
